Step 5: Drawing Process

Step 5:  Drawing Process-  Further refining of details.  This step is the slowest.  Checking and checking again, comparing sizes and shapes against one another until I am satisfied that they are correct.  I work all around the piece carrying the color throughout.  I am thinking very much about contrast and balancing of shapes and pattern, busy areas and open.  Texture is also important to me.  I want to retain some texture from previous layers and blend others.  The layering of pastel can cause a glow- almost a look/feel of "vibration."

Step 4

Step 4:  Drawing Process- Further resolution.  Focusing on accurate features and layering of color on which to build final colors and skin tone as well as pattern.
